Rain in The Woods [White Noise]A Poem by Emunah June.
A blanket is worth nothing When you're awake To the noise Of rain In the woods Beating down against your tent
I shiver and sit up Praying for less frightening White noise But it doesn't come
And I am stuck Listening to Rain In the woods Beating down against my tent
I am illiterate I can't remember the last time My fingers graced a piece of technology But then I remember I dont need it
Nature is nature And temperature is certain So I lay myself back down
Against the air mattress [Listening to that bright white noise]
And I open my ears up as my eyes close [Awakening the peace buried in the woods]
Cover my body up with the blanket I have
[Survival is a strange thing, isn't it?]
And accept the now peaceful noise That is the rain In the woods
