Kiss The Rain (Lemonade) [An Edward x Koda Poem]

I haven't written one of these in a long time. ^__^ Special thanks to Ayumi who told me of this song that I already knew but didn't know I knew :D

 

One night I woke up

And slammed my arm on the left side of the mattress

Aiming to feel you beside me

But you had left

A note: "Be back tomorrow."

 

I sigh

Bring the covers up to my mouth

And try to sleep

But your scent still remains

Buried deep within the crevices of my heart

 

I sit up, pull on a robe

And light a candle

Alphonse is asleep, he wont notice me gone

I get to the closet, thrown on a shirt

And a good pair of pants

 

Quietly

Patiently

I set the candle down and shut the door

Time for you to return to me

In the form of sweet lemonade melody

 

I sit on the piano stool

And crack my fingers

(Well, at least the ones I can anyway)

And I play your favourite song

 

The one you always hum to when we dance

The one you sing while you work the day away

The one that you whistle when we walk

The one that magnitzes our hearts together

 

I play each note

Tasting it

And it tastes just like you

My life

My joy

My lemonade lover

 

I hit each note

I close my eyes and imagine you here

Leaning over the piano

In your pretty black dress

Smiling, saying "Play it again! You play ever so well!"

 

I stop, suddenly.

I feel the wind rush through my hair.

Something's missing

The piano notes are hollow

The song doesn't taste the same

 

I look over at the candle

It's flame gasping for life

When I realize

It's you

You're missing

 

Quickly, I light a second candle

And place it on top of the piano

And smile.

Now you're here

Leaning over the piano

In your pretty black dress

Smiling, saying "Play it again! It's my favourite!"

 

I play again

And this time it feels better

The music feels complete

And I can go to bed

With a mouth full of the taste

Of lemonade

*tears up* It's so beautiful. I can't believe you write such beautiful poems and you say your not good. Pardon my language but I call bullshit. because this just made me cry. And to top it off you had the song playing and it made me bawl. TwT
