Hysteria

Hysteria

A Poem by Emunah June.

If anything

I am

Panicked

In a contest

Hysteria

I can cover my ears

But noise still exists

I can cover my eyes

But the world will remain ruined

Under the control of my

Hysteria

In an inverted world

Where everything is black and white

I can feel the overwhelming

Hysteria

I don't know who I am

Or how I got here

There are days where I can't remember my name

All because of a little

Hysteria

I hate myself for not waking up

I hate myself for not breaking free

I hate myself for living in a world

Full of nothing but constant

Hysteria

Hysteria has ailed us all and it leaves us in a hole a mistrust and fear. The quickened breaths, the tears, the looks of distaste aimed at you. I know this came from someone who has experienced the chilling grasp of hysteria and knows it like an old friend. Well done, friend.
