To The BlackboardA Poem by Emunah June.
The board speaks to me In a language So foreign That when I open my mouth To speak I dont recognize my voice
The language on the board Is so unfamiliar So unsettling That when I move my pen To understand My brain stops working and I go numb
The writing untesil used on the board Is so frightening So unnerving That when I sleep at night I awake to a disturbance And it's the board's words staring down on me
That board in the centre Of the room How much I hate it How I wish it would vanish How I wish it'd burn And make a satisfying pile of ashes
To the blackboard I go And I'll write in a language So foreign That when I walk away I wont recognize myself anymore
