In The Rain of Winter

In The Rain of Winter

A Poem by Emunah June.

If I could only make

One wish

In this half state rain of ours

I'd wish

For a chance

To slip my fingers into your hand

And wish you a faint goodbye

Before the train comes

And you clicka-tat-tat away

In the rain of winter

If I could only write

One word

On this frostbitten windowpane

I'd write

Your name

In the hot condensation of my breath

So that way I dont forget

Who you are

When you walk away out into the cold

In the rain of winter

If I could only speak

One syllable

I'd speak

"You"

And wait to see you laugh at me

Before you

Go away for what might be for good

In the rain of winter

I remember the old willow

Where we'd sit and laugh

And I'd look at you

With your stars for eyes

And think
"Wow".

And for you

I'll shiver

Under this undying tree

That will prove

My love

In the rain of winter

This poem is spectacular!! I can really relate to the poem although I wouldn't be able to put it in more beautiful words. Reading this brightened my day! Great read. :)
