Chapter 18: Accidental Accident

Ayumi turned on the radio an hour later.

 

We had boiled in a strange but damp heat when she decided it was time to listen to music.

 

I was glad.

 

The music was the Fantasy Impromptu by Chopin, one of my favourites. It reminded me of times where Brother and I would sit at the table and watch Koda scuttle around the house. Times like this were soothing and peaceful.

 

"Al?"

 

Ayumi drags me back into reality.

 

She's staring directly at me. "Alphonse, where's your family? They're usually here by now..."

 

Ayumi raises a point. Where WHERE they? I look around the room, almost as if that will give me some sort of answer. "I uh...I'm not too sure...they're probably on their way," I say a second later.

 

Ayumi shrugs.

 

I close my eyes and lean back. "Ayumi...do me a favour and open the window up for me, would you?" I ask as politely as possible. Ayumi strides over to the window and throws open the pane. A nice cool breeze wanders through the room, encasing me in cool relief. I sigh.

 

"Alphonse...I..."

 

I look up to see Ayumi struggling to tell me something. She's blushing.

 

I blush too.

And I don't know why.

 

"Alphonse, um...I was thinking...would you like to be...um...friends?"

 

I smile.

"Of course!"

 

Ayumi looks surprised. "R-Really? Even though I kinda..yknow..ran you over?" she asks, as if I had forgotten. I nod, trying my best to be friendly. "Of course! I don't hold grudges. It takes too much energy. Now, come over here and lets shake on it!"

 

Ayumi looks confused, like I had just spoken to her in a forgein language. But she nods, and slowly starts to walk over to me. I extend my hand, ready to shake, when suddenly she slips.

 

I gasp.

She gasps.

 

She falls against the metal side of my bed and leans forward, shattering my personal space. I blush. She blushes.

 

"I...I..."

 

She tries to stand, but in the process brushes her lips against mine. I blush even more.

 

She stands, and for a moment we say nothing.

I can't.

Im breathless.

Yeah-uhhhh finally they get to smoochin' even if it was accidentally. I loved the line "I gasped. Then she gasped" it made me lol in real life
