When I Get MarriedA Poem by Emunah June.
When I get married I don't want to be treated Like royalty I want to be treated Like me
I want to be held close And kissed on my head And I want to be reminded Of why you fell in love with me In the first place
I want to relive our first date As I walk across the isle I want to relive our first kiss As I link hands with my Dad
I want to see your eyes Brimming with tears Not by my beauty But because you're reliving it too
I want to take your hand And I want be so lost in your eyes That I forget my vows And we share a laugh Our first of many
I want to make sure You will never hit me You will never make me feel small You will never cheat on me
I want to make sure I'm not making a mistake I want to make sure I ring the man Who will treat me well
Who won't love my money But who will love me For me
Don't treat me like I'm perfect But treat me well And never let me forget That you love me. © 2011 Emunah June. |
