Chapter 14: The Woman In Question

"Who will you follow?"

 

I look between both the girls. Even with her sewn-up lips, the girl looked amazing. "Who is she?" I ask Koda, put she places a finger to my lips and stops me from talking.

 

"Who will you follow Al?"

 

"You! I'm going to follow you!" I shout. Koda stares, then shakes her head. She places a delicate hand on the girl's shoulder. "He doesn't understand," she tells the girl. The girl nods.

 

I feel incredibly stupid.

 

"Koda...who this this girl?" I ask again, but Koda seems to have forgotten about the girl completely. "Follow me, but you won't like the outcome."

 

I think she's lying.

 

She runs in the opposite direction, and as I turn to follow, the girl grabs my sleeve.

 

I freeze.

 

She looks up at me with a tired gaze, and I can feel that she's trying to tell me something. I can feel her urgency rising. She had to tell me....she HAD to...

 

"Oh Al~"

 

Koda is calling to me, but for some reason, I want to figure out what this girl is trying to say. She moves her lips awkwardly, almost as if, for a second, she forgot they were sewn. I feel her panic as I start to slip away. She doesn't want me to leave.

 

"Aren't you going to follow me, Al?"

 

The girl stares at me, silently begging me not to go. I look her up and down, but feel nothing anymore. I begin to follow Koda, and a harsh dissapointment washes through me.

 

That girl...
