Leon: The Boy Behind The MirrorA Poem by Emunah June.Dedicated to Leon. He should read this. At least, I hope he does. Play the music. You're hurting. Me too. We hurt.
I hurt you. You hurt me. We're hurting each other.
We're waging wars With guns and arrows For what? What reason? Why are we fighting?
I stand Bloodied Watching memories of endless sleepovers And sweet insider jokes And with the coming of a broken bond We stopped talking.
I was there When you told us all Who you wanted to be. Leon. So I'll call you that. Leon.
That's a nice name.
I understand the hatred Yeah I messed up. Then again I'm imperfect. But isn't that what makes me Me?
We're all imperfect You, me, and him too. Leon, I apologize. I know it wont change a thing But I'm sorry.
Leon, I'm sorry If I ever made you feel worthless Unwanted Unneeded Not cared for Because you are. And if you're never there for me I'll always be there for you.
Perhaps one day We'll put down the guns Put down the arrows Put down the sharp words And hug And together we'll march forward.
I want to know The boy behind the mirror.
