Means Nothing

Means Nothing

A Poem by Emunah June.

I watch as the mirror shatters

And I'm left alone

With nothing but a broken dream

And a broken mirror

My hands become transparent

And I can feel myself slipping away

Buttery tears

Slide down my pale

Dimly lit

Face

And I collapse

Onto the floor below me

And as I fall

It becomes

Crystal clear

My place in the world.

A sweet embrace

Under watchful eyes

Means nothing.

My stolen breath

Means nothing

Im under the hot covers

Of the barely soft matress

My body so see through

That full blooded things

Cant touch me

Im a sinful body

With the eyes of the lost

And my fever rises so high

That I die again

But come back to life.

A stolen word

Against the wishes of others

Means nothing.

My stolen breath

Means nothing.

Im choking on my non-existent breath

Blood is pouring from cuts that never existed

Im screaming with a voice

That's been stolen

I'm silently screaming

But it's so loud

It breaks my new mirror

And now I'm gone.

But to you

It

Means nothing.

That dream was all you had. Without it, you are nothing. It keeps you from falling a propels you forward. But when that is gone, so are you.

Beautiful.
