Fly Away

 

What if I just flew

Far far away?

Would anyone lose sleep

Because I chose not to stay?

 

What if I stretched my wings

And flew high above the clouds?

Would anyone not be able to be talked to

Because their crying was so loud?

 

What if I just fly away

Taking nothing with me but light?

Would anyone stand there and wait

For me, even in the dead of night?

 

What I chose to fly far away

And never once look back?

Would anyone feel betrayed?

Would anyone cut me some slack?

 

What if I hid away,

My wings taking me where I wanted to go?

Would the thought of me gone hurt anyone?

Or would anyone even know?

 

Would my flying cause a ruckus?

Would anyone cry and stare?

Would anyone scream for me to return?

 

Would anyone care?

I would care if you were gone! My only constructive criticism on this one is the 2nd paragraph "Would anyone not be able to be talked to" just seems too long and wordy. How about "Would anyone's objections go unheard"? I just thought it sounded better, but it might interfere with the message you were trying to get across. I really liked this poem. A bit dark and sad, but very creative.

I'm sorry...I have to answer the last question...I'm sure that someone would care if you...in your words...hid away...or fly away...i'm sure that if you did people would miss you...and there tears would be heard for miles...at least...that's how I would feel if someone I knew did that...good job...I loved the picture especially...
