Alone to Die

Have you ever noticed

That you could like one thing today

And by tomorrow's breaking dawn

All your views have changed?

 

Its strange, how much I've seen this folly

How many liars and fakes have I befriended?

How much they loved today's happy item

And tomorrow they're love has ended

 

You laugh with me, you know you do

You laugh, you love, you believe

But when the others suck you right in

You poke, you prod, you make fun of me

 

"Whats this?" you ask

"I hate it, get it away!!

Thats funny, because you

Loved it yesterday...

 

The others whisper in your ear

"Its bad, it's dumb, so leave it be!

I'm good, I'm smart, I'm popular

So come, be friends with me."

 

"We'll hate it together

Just you and I

So don't listen to them

And all their lies"

 

So off you go

Into the world of fame

Leaving me alone

To play my own game

 

It's not bad, you loved it once too

So we're not that different, you and I

So I'll kindle the flame of my lovely hobbie

And leave yours alone to die

Epic. I know someone who used to be obsessed with Shikamaru (from Naruto) and now when they're around others, they pretend to not know what the heck it is, like they're embarrassed by it or something.

Hmmm, I see where your coming from, though the poem itself can be interpreted in countless ways. We should stick to our own opinions, and not change to how others think. Even if it is little things, you shouldn't change for other people :) Nice poem, greater message.
