"I'm sorry."

 

She's apologizing.

Why is she apologizing?

"Edward, I'm so sorry."

Dont be sorry.

You couldn't have stopped it.

The boards were too quick.

Neither of us saw them coming.

"I'm so sorry, Edward."

Dont blame yourself!

I told you, it was an accident.

I'm not mad at you.

Stop saying sorry.

 

"Im so sorry Edward."

Her voice is getting deeper.

Wait...deeper?

Her eyes turn a pale shade of purple.

She's changing...into what?

"I sure hope you forgive me, Ed."

I stare.

Thats no longer her.

No.

Someone else.

Her arms turn meaty, her legs nothing but muscles.

Her clothes change into a black tanktop and shorts.

Her hair no longer brown, but green.

Teeth bared like a dogs.

 

Envy!!

 

"I'm so sorry, Edward."

He says this in a mocking tone as he holds something

What is it?

I stand back in raw terror.

It her...her bloody body.

I shudder, covering my eyes.

But then all I hear is her blood-curdled scream.

"SHUT UP!!!"

That was me

But its still loud.

And I remember

Remember when she took the hit

To save me

Only it failed because we both

Died
