[Koda's POV] Pure Miracle!

"Edward!!!"

 

I rushed into the house, my heart pounding and my face hurting from smiling so wide. I can't believe we pulled it off!! I thought for sure it wouldn't work, but it did!!

 

I stood in the dark house, which seemed to only echo back me squeals of joy. It looked like Ed was running late today. I impatiently fiddled with my wedding ring. "Oh Ed, where did you go?" I asked aloud as I sat down on the sofa.

 

I brought the crumpled paper in my hands up to my eyes again as I re-read it. Was this really true? Was it REALLY gonna happen? I smiled, then squealed again as I kicked the rug excitedly. It was! It really was!! Ooh, I just couldn't wait until Ed got home!!

 

I stood up and silently walked over to the phone.

 

Oh, it looks like I must have missed some calls while I was out...

 

I picked up the phone, dialed my voicemail password, and waited.

 

 

You have 2 new messages. Play all?

 

I pressed the play button and waited. The first message was from Blake.

 

 

 

"Hey Mom! I was just calling to check in with you and let you know about my new life here.

It's quite um...active, I guess.

I started cooking class yesterday. Everyone called me retarded for being homeschooled. Do you think I'm retarded?

Hey why did I stay at home anyways? Nina went to school...oh but anyway!

I'll call again as soon as I can, but I just wanted to check in. Love you! Bye!"

 

 

 

I mentally slapped myself. Oh shoot! I missed him! I then felt a wave of sadness rush through me. The others were calling him retarded? But he wasn't! My little man was as smart as ever! I felt myself getting dragged back to the time when Nina had her first disagreement at school. I had marched down to the principal's office and demanded that they fix it. And they did.

 

But Blake was in college. I couldn't do that to him! He was an adult now, no matter how badly I didnt want to admit it.

 

I played the next message.

 

"Hello beautiful.

Listen, I'm gonna be a little late today. Colonel Mustang is having a meeting.

God knows how long thats going to take.

Anyway, I promise I'll be home as soon as I can.

Besides, I needed to ask you something.

...oh! The Colonel is calling me! Gotta go!

Love you!"

 

 

I smiled. Aw Ed! He'd always leave me the sweetest messages! I wondered what he was going to ask me just as he himself walked in the door.

 

"Edward!" I shouted happily as I ran to him. Immedietly he put down his bag and hugged me hard. "Hello beautiful," he said in the exact same tone that he used in the message. I gripped him hard, then escaped his grasp and ran to the couch and grabbed my paper. "Edward, Edward look! Look look look!!" I shouted excitedly as I tossed the paper at him. He slipped off his coat and straightened his glasses. "Relax! I'm looking, I'm looking," he said as he brought the paper closer to his face.

 

I slowly watched as his face brightened. Then he immedietly looked at me and grinned the widest I'd ever seen. "You mean...?" he started, and I nodded. "I'm pregnant!" I shouted, and we both burst into a fit of happy laughter.
