What We Didn't Deserve

What We Didn't Deserve

A Poem by Emunah June.

She never did anything to deserve this

She made a promise, a romantic wish

Forever and always, said the ring on your finger

But looks like it's gone, with none left to linger

It was a choice, and you made it swiftly

Keep it secret, and you tried to hide it quickly

But now she knows and you don't say a word

Tell me, all this, is it what she's worth?

I say "NO!" and my trust in you is fading

Now that you talked to that girl you use to be dating

She didn't deserve this and neither did Hope and I

So many questions to ask, and I only think "Why?"

"Didn't you love us? What are we to you?

When you said you loved us, was any of it true?

Are we really a family? Or simply a game?

And out of all this, do you really want to change?"

Now you're game was played, you didn't expect a curve

But this is what we didn't deserve
