Chapter Thirty-Nine: Family Genetics Suddenly Make SenseA Chapter by Emunah June.My face shapeshifted. "Don't you 'hello son' me! I don't even want to hear you talk!" I screamed. "What's wrong Edmond? Why are you so angry with him?" Noah asked, but I didn't dare answer her question. "I would imagine you would be angry. After all, there's no excuse," Hohenheim spoke softly, and I only got angrier. I swallowed hard.
Folks, this is my "Dad". He abandonned me and Al. And recently (though not recently enough to be in this book) I found out he was cheating on my mom. With a lady named Dante. And this Dante, who was now old and senile, didn't believe Equivalent Exchange existed. I hated him more than anyone else. Just to catch you up.
"Why? Why did you do it?" I asked, praying that if anything happened, Noah would restrain me. "Did what? There are alot of things I did, so you need to be clearer," Hohenheim spoke calmly.
UGH, HOW CAN YOU BE SO CALM??!?!?!
I clentched my fists so hard I thought my new skin would rip open. "You and that girl, Dante! Explain that to me!" I screamed.
"How do you know Dante?"
Noah had asked this, but I was far too angry (infuriated it more like it) to answer. Hohenheim placed his hand on my shoulder. A gutsy move, I must say. Obviously he doesn't love his hand. "There are alot of reasons why. But the main was that I loved her," he spoke so bluntly, and I was ready to punch him. "If you loved Dante so much, then why did you marry my mother!?" I screamed at last, and Noah seemed to react behind me. "I loved your mother very much. Which is why I left Dante so I could be with her," Hohenheim stated calmly, and I grit my teeth hard. "Then why? Why did you leave! Why did you leave?!" I asked, becoming incredibly tired. "I didn't deserve my two children. They were my pride, my joy, my life. I didn't deserve such a gift. So, I went to the land where sinners like me are excepted. There is no place for me in the land of alchemy," he said, and I almost threw in a "DARN STRAIGHT", but I didn't. Edward a good boy. Good, good boy.
"Hohenheim!" Noah shouted so suddenly that we both turned to look at her. "Can I use alchemy to get home?! Can I? My friend....your son......he used alchemy all the time! You know, the one you let die?" she asked, and I threw my hands up in the air and scoffed.
Wow, he's got ANOTHER son?! I see where Al got his housebunny magnet-ness.
Hohenheim shook his head. "Alchemy doesn't work on this side of the Gate. There's no possible way," he said, and Noah looked horribly dissapointed. Then, he turned around, not making eye contact with either one of us.
