The question that I've wanted to hear

But it's looks like it's neither far nor near

I felt alone, so loveless and lost

Life spit me out and away I was tossed

Was love for me not meant to be?

I wished and hoped for eyes to see

An answer to this question of mine

Please send me a man so fine!

 

And then I found him.

 

My main man has done it all

Crysler building? Hah! He's much more tall!

His love is like an unending dream

He's undoubtedly perfect, and you'd agree

He's humble and wise, kind and smart

Every word he says comes from the heart

He gives the world a whole new taste

I am so happy I found his grace

He's better than friends, bigger than life

In him there is no anger or strife

He's happy and gentle, you've met him before

And other men won't reach his score

Ed, you're cool, but he holds my heart

I think he did, right from the start

So don't get mad if I walk with him

If life's a game, with him I'll win

 

My main man is very well known

He's got many friends, and it really shows!

I love him lots, and he loves me too

I know it's not a lie, it's the truth.

 

Want to know what he's done for me?

If I told you, you'd smile and weep

You may already know how good he is

He listens to my every wish

Sometimes he nods, sometimes it's "no"

But oh, how I do love him so!

 

With him, my love is never lost

Because my main man carried the cross.
