YISHEINU.

YISHEINU.

A Poem by Emunah June.
"

they see us behind every frosted mirror and then choose to pretend they don't.

"

a silver tongue
with flowing wallet

and baby blues
with frozen edges ;

poison words
with slurred apologies

clenched fists
of knives and gold.

perfection behind curtains
drenched in blood
swallowed in mucus.

they host the fallen
clipped wings and charming gazes

under deadbolt skies
grey lips ; stained hands.

the broken altar
bleeding sacrifices of silence

they see us
behind every frosted mirror

and then choose to pretend
they don't.

Author's Note

Emunah June.
So this is a little more personal than the practice poem I posted last week. I've been struggling with a breakup that has left me with more questions than answers, and has exposed me to alot of religious based tramua. While my faith in Hashem is not shaken, my faith in the followers sure is.

Neutrality does not exist in situations of abuse.
Please don't be afraid to reach out for help if you need it.

I will more than likely write about this same topic from different angles later on, but for now, enjoy this! Please give me any feedback you can...it has been a bit since Ive really sat down and decided to write seriously, so anything you can give me, I appreciate.
