Spindling Beauty [Things Unseen]

Spindling Beauty [Things Unseen]

A Poem by Emunah June.

Unwind me, take me back to the days where things were easy
The days of heat-pulsing summer, when all I had to do
Was pace between bedroom and kitchen, cursing bad reception
When the lights twinkled over the city while Your voice echoed right through me

Push the power of the valleys against me and make me grow stronger
As I make food my friend, and cut the strings with memorable strangers
Give me the torch and give me the courage to evaluate the darkness ahead
Give me a winding road, and the tools to create all it's beautiful curves

Liquidate the sun and inject through my veins, blessing me with eternal happiness
Giving me the chance to create something out of dust and clay
My fingers work just fine, and these legs were made for running from my problems
But I'll take this time to catch solutions instead with a butterfly net

Call my name and bestow onto me the chance to walk on the orneriest of waves
Wrap the rainbow around my waist and dress me in the finest garments You can offer
Throw me against the window, but let me dance while You do it
There is guidance in the steps I'm taking, there are blessings in the routes I take

Ignite the flame of worship inside my body and mold me into a prime example
Reveal unto me Your utmost holiness, my God, and give me the patience to mediate
On the things unseen, on the wonders You're working unbeknownst to me
I want to work for You, I want my echos to be written in the smoothest chalk along concrete sidewalks

Invisible lies the ring that will tie together the destinies of him and I
Bless me with the skills of a wife, sew into me all the knowledge I'll need to make it through to him
As we waltz through all the obstacles placed before us, and push through the sheets
If it be Your will, help me to become the greatest blessing of all

While I step through this life blind, walking on glass, bare and cold
I put my trust in You, Lord, and I know You shall never fail me
But it is I who will do the failing, and even then You will be there to catch the collapsing pressure
Saving me from the world, myself, and the people that tell me I can't ever be happy.

The title captured me instantly. The piece itself needs a little work on its flow but is otherwise a wonderful write. Great job :)

no problem at all, you are a phenomenally unique author
They say we all have a number of our stars imprinted in the birth name that is given to us. I watch you as you break like eroding rocks over the height of a waterfall, waiting to be caught by gentle invisible arms. I watch you as you hold your breath in agony and remain frozen and unmoving on the floor tiles for days after being told what happiness really is. I watch as your skin slowly drinks the summer sun. And I watch as you wave a butterfly net in guilt and with grace. You wish to tiptoe on ocean waves, and you wish you wore a crown fit for a queen of a kingdom only your lover knows about. You also wish for the simplest things. A home, a cooking pot, a kiss on the cheek and the sheltering smile of the God you cherish.
I believe this piece could be tweaked a little more like replacing 'I want to work for you' with something grander or more old-fashioned for a prayer. There is always more room for improvement, but your emotions were excellently conveyed and they flow like a steady, almost shy murmuring stream. Thank you for sharing with us, Faith. Keep writing.
