I can be the first

Or I can be your last

Either way, a pawn's happiness is more of an overall choice

Between monochrome static

And plastic playthings

Pitch black, demon eyed

First year we've come so close to achieving that perfect nothing

A happy medium cloaked in satanic protection

When we dance on the sidewalk in our new sneakers

You should remember the things mother told you about strangers

When everyone's watching, what more will you give away?

Full bloomed curiosity, green taste on tattered cloth

He wont survive this, no one ever does

A list kept on stone paper, your eyes masked with delusional greed

Speak inside the talking bassline

And remember as you wash the black smudge off your fingers

I can be your first

Or I can be your last

Or better yet

I'll just be your first of the year

It started with a simple glimmer upon the beach,

Showing the world’s ending was its reach.

The sky was finally falling,

Closing in on the couple but no one was stalling,

Their plan was to live fast and die young,

To hurry before land and time disappear he had sung.

Pulling her away after their “I do’s”,

Knowing there was time they could afford to lose.

He promised her everything; he became her everything,

He made sure of it as he slipped on the ring.

He put on his best clothes despite the worst of day,

Getting ready for the party down by the bay.

Toasting to his wife as the earth trembled and quaked,

He takes his love away riding in a hot air balloon as the land before them caved.

The rain poured over them and they landed and ran into a safe haven,

Their time limit was being easily shaven.

Starting with a simple kiss they began to make love in excitement but in fear,

The world crashing before them is what they hear.

They still love and kiss as passionately as they can,

To make love with no shame is the plan.

Before fate’s tempting voice would drag them away,

They give it their way.

He held her tightly just before they were suffocated, smashed, or drowned,

As they disappeared with the Sound of Pulling Heaven Down
