UNWORTHY INVESTMENT

UNWORTHY INVESTMENT

A Poem by Elijah H. Muied (6 Deep the Messenger)

SHE WANTS HIM TO BE THE FRIEND SHE CAN CALL WHEN THE WORLD WON’T TREAT HER RIGHT

THE SHOULDER SHE CAN CRY ON, THE ONE SHE CAN RELY ON,

THE VOICE THAT ASSURES HER IT WILL BE ALL RIGHT

SHE WANTS HIM TO BE HER SECURITY BLANKET HER WARM HAVEN FROM THE COLD OUTSIDE

THAT CARING EAR THAT SHE CAN BEND AND VENT WITH, THAT SOOTHING TONE TO CHASE AWAY THE FRIGHT

SHE WANTS HIM IN HER CORNER TO ADVISE WITH STRATEGIES ON THE BEST WAY TO FIGHT

THE SUPPORT SHE CAN COUNT ON, THE FOUNDATION SHE CAN STAND ON

THE HELP THAT NEVER FALTERS WHEN TROUBLE IS IN SIGHT

THE SCENERIO SOUNDS GOOD RIGHT?

SHE WANTS HIM TO KEEP HER IN HIS HEART THOUGH SHE IS OUT OF SIGHT

HER BACK UP PLAN, HER JUST IN CASE GO TO MAN

HER STEADY SUGAR DADDY WHEN SHES IN BETWEEN THE PLACES SHE.…SLEEPS AT NIGHT

SHE WANTS HIS LOVE AND SECURITY WITHOUT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ACTUALLY HAVING TO TREAT HIM RIGHT

WHISPERING FALSE PROMISES AND POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT COULD BE, WHAT MIGHT BE

PLANS NEVER INTENDED TO BE RECIPROCATED BECAUSE OTHER THAN HIS PROVISIONS HE’S NOT REALLY HER TYPE

TAKING BUT GIVING NOTHING IN RETURN SWEETNESS EARNED BUT NOT GIVEN, HE IS BURNED BY THE POISON OF SPIDERS BITE.

AND SHE WONDERS WHY HE NO LONGER WISHES TO ANSWER HER CALLS, TELLS HER TO SEEK SOLACE WHEREVER SHE LAYS HER HEAD AT NIGHT

WHY HE NO LONGER WANTS TO BE HER

FRIEND!
