Senseless

Senseless

A Poem by Gordon

A flip of the switch

And this world is darkened

The arrested sense of sight

Has freed senses held captive

The smell of jasmine on her skin

Her flavor given wings

Spirited ghosts with a story

Too interesting to ignore

Fields of skin turned to silk

Fingers once calloused, now perceptive

Sashay the line upon the precipice

A virtuoso of the unclothed soul

Each kiss tossed out like an anchor

On the sands of my lover’s shores

Reigning her in like a prized catch

Each taste tangible, but insatiable

Breath that verbalizes a language

Unknown in the lighted realm

“Come closer, climb inside”

Moans of joy speak directly to me

And all that is me, courses through me

And all that is her, embraces me

And by the light of a new sunrise

We see once more… we’ve never departed.

Love the hope and sensuality of this poem.
