Portrait of a Lonely Star

Portrait of a Lonely Star

A Poem by Gordon

I am a lonely, unaccompanied star
I wonder if I've lost my luminosity
I hear the faint pulse of the universe afar
I see only ghosts trapped within my gravity

I want to embolden, create and sustain life

I am a lonely, unaccompanied star

I pretend I am Orion in the sky
I feel his strength, his sword clutched in hand
I touch a nearby star and feel so alive
I worry the fantasy will fade then disband
I cry out for something, anything...but nothing
I am a lonely, unaccompanied star

I understand the universe is a process
I say let it begin with me
I dream of warming the oceans with heavenly bliss
I try to shine on, persevere and believe
I hope someday I will have a name, until then...
I am a lonely, unaccompanied star

Lovely poem Gordon. Full of superb imagery and well constructed.
Unique take on my "Loneliness" contest indeed. Love how your
muse was inspired by this word.

I can't believe you haven't had any other comments for this one.
Send out links....it deserves to be read.

Thank you for submitting this to the contest my friend.
