Upon the Ocean FloorA Poem by Gordon
There was a woman of water and he swam in the waves of her hair She said, "I love you," and from her surf he fell She kissed him with her intoxicating liqueur And in solitary retreat she cried a new ocean
There was a brave man of stone and she built her castle upon his chest He said, "I love you," and from his tower she fell He kissed her and secretly wept upon his throne And he ached for her moisture laden kiss again
There was a horizon at war and they drew their dreams upon its canvas They said, "I love you," yet from its easel red paint fell They kissed once more, and he crumbled before her And she fell silent, uninfluenced by the winds
There was a newborn child of sand and she crashed into him, her single refuge She cried, "I love you," and as her waves caressed he fell She kissed him gently and rest upon his shore Hers to adore forever, she embraced him deeply Upon the ocean floor © 2008 GordonAuthor's Note
