Bequeathing

Bequeathing

A Poem by Gordon
"

For my book...

"

Where does a new beginning, begin

and an end finally end?

Was there only one true beginning,

where the maker winked the spark

that created life and started time?

Where subsequent endings are

merely reborn points of transition;

where old and new intersect

at a point where light and dark refract.

I believe it all began as a dream not yet dreamt;

Where the creator spun a single thread

into a seamless tale with timeless end;

at a time when old and new were the same,

and before the words, life and death, were named.

The mystery of you, is the history of me,

where the glory of an infant’s first breath

and the undying regrets of the last,

lie recorded in the quandary of time;

hidden in the separation of space

Bequeathing each soul to consider,

Is my end really the end?

Or simply, the beginning of me...
