Cicada Sonata

Cicada Sonata

A Poem by Alexa

the wind keeps me awake

outside my bedroom window.
the trees shake
as if alive -- like a person dancing with the wind.
cicadas humming in the summer twilight,
playing a song, especially for the trees and the wind.
nightingales sing to the sonata of the cicadas,
fireflies flash a silent applause.

I love this - it makes me long for summer and this happy song. It makes me wish I spoke their language... what a great little write this is! I will put it in my favs and look for it when I first hear their song again....
