Dandelions

Dandelions

A Poem by emptyinkwell
"

The most underrated and under-appreciated wildflower by far.

"
Not far away in a lawn somewhere
Over the green grass are specks of yellow and white
In a never-ending war against the gardener -
Living, though wanted for dead.
Emerging victorious,
Dandelions with full manes dance arrogantly in the wind.
Not loved. Not admired. Not valued.
Among a wilting bed of roses
Dandelions continue to prosper.

I always thought of dandelions as wishes, though a lot of people think of them as a weed

Gee
Top to bottom read annoying weed :) One gust of weed and confetti like they spread themselves to become ever more irksome.

Thanks Gee! Glad you enjoyed this!
This is an Acrostic poem. NOILEDNAD is Dandelion spelled backwards!
A lovely tribute to a tiny daisy like ( belongs to the daisy family) flower, spreads a carpet of gentle beauty!
You are a well of fun and knowledge!
