A Gentleman's Breakfast through TimeA Poem by emptyinkwellA vintage soul against the present-day scene.Hot coffee, dark roast, black And an order of bacon and eggs, extra bacon, extra crispy Thank you, good day. Ma'am I know the sign says no smoking But I'm out here on the patio All alone May I light one cigar? The bacon is great, thank you. Do you serve Scotch at this time of day? I could really use a Johnnie Walker Double Black. Where can I get a newspaper? I don't care particularly for politics I just want to see the funnies. Here stupid pigeon, have the damn bacon. Where did I put my sunglasses? And why can't I find my parasol today? Yes, yes, Tokyo, I'll Skype you in.
