Foolish frog, to fall so far
Now's what's to come?
To patiently wait
For a foolish cricket to fall?

Happened to the frog king in his own home.
A well once filled by a stream once prosperous
Reduced to soot and moss, all desolate.
In rich waters the frog kind did wait,
Only for a cruel twist in fate.
I really love that, It's so simple and true, the last little part on the end almost doesn't seem to fit but I still like it

I tried to shift the perspective in the poem from third person omniscient to almost that of first person omniscient (it's describing the frog and then what the world is to the frog from the bottom of the well). I get how that isn't clear. I tried to hard to just keep the poem short.

This made me pity for the frogs as they are trapped. It also reflects how land has been turning dry and no water supply comes along the way and the land deteriorates into garbage. Well done!

Except I was hoping, too, that people would pause after the poem and think about their own situation. I often feel like I am one such frog stuck under the well. I didn't even notice all the allegory to land and deterioration. That's really awesome that you noticed that!

I put words on paper (or in this case, a text box) and try to pass it off as poetry. Sometimes, my efforts are successful.
