Jerusalem

Some rap lyrics I wrote a few years back sighting a few lines from William Blakes 'Jerusalem' I'm not trying to enforce my beliefs on anyone. I am definatly not against athiests. This is just me thanking Jesus for being in my life.

 

JERERUSELEM

 

Give me my spear

Give it right hear

Allow me to defend the saviour of the year

Jesus Christ

Who rose from the dead

Who parted the sea and who sent the bread

And then for our sins he bled on the cross

Ascending to heaven with the worlds remorce

And some poople don’t believe this because

They don’t have the faith

They don’t have what it takes

To believe in God’s miracle of life

Tonight we prey that they keep out of strife

Thou shal not covet thou neighbors wife

Us Christians are gonna like go insane if we hear another rapper say gods name in vein

And don’t just sit there saying we’re just lame

Just cause we don’t think or act the same

We will not cease form mental flight

We will not ponder the stars at night and wonder if heaven is a place that really exists

Cause deep down in our hearts we know it is a place where we gonna go

So sit back and watch the stars unfold

You’ve been told Gods up in this

So get down on you knees and take a few mins

To prey for forgivness of all you sins

Prey for Jesus Christ who sacrifised his life for mine

Who turned the water into wine

Performing miracles both now and then

And who lived in the city of Jerusalem.

Author's Note

When I was in choirs a little while back we performed Charles Hubert Hastings Parry's 'Jerusalem'. Lyrics were written by William Blake. Our performance space was the old city hall in Brisbane, and it sounded amazing. So amazing it inspired me to write my own rap version and include a few of my favourite lines.
