Silence please in these conformity factories

With socks pulled up to their knees

I ask myself is this what they need or are they walking in sorrow

Doing assignments today and drugs tomorrow

Walking around in a vengeful rage

Like animals locked inside a cage

Trapped unable to walk about

But things will change the day they’re let out

 

Let the acid run thick

Cleansing my thoughts and corrupting my actions

If the sin is so deep,

How come I’m not drowning?

Surrendering time and suspending our lives

If their motive is sin

How are we to know?

ERODING!     Eroding all away from me

Of academic slavery to a private nation?
My opportunities! Where did they go?
We could be doing the wrong thing!

How are we to know?

Knowledge aint truth, it just makes you work harder

And being number one doesn’t make you smarter

Questioning beliefs, discourses of love and hate

…of sex and race and even faith!
