RED LACE

RED LACE

A Poem by Cassie Fraga
"

one step at a time...

"

RED- Ruby painted passion varying from glowing fire.

LACE- A fine open ornamental piece of fabric intertwining the flavor and spirit of mood.

There was something in the way he caught my hand and made me stay

It was like a friendly gesture of “just give me a chance”

His touch caressed up my arms, it didn’t hold that sweet blazing torment that I crave for

But I did feel the spark of a flame

There was something in the way his eyes took me under

It was like he was scanning setting out to listen

And what he heard was a silence hushing words that still swarm, but are no longer my own

“I can love you passed your pain” he whispered as his hands framed my face

There was something in his voice that made me pause

It was like a deliverance of relieving a minimal portion of what I hide

He drew in so close, “wholly broken…” his breath was on my neck

I closed my eyes and slowly nodded; yes

There was something in his press that made me bend

It was like a safe and protecting notion of sound

Reminding me that what is broken is not dead

“We’ll take it slow” were the words trembling at my ear

There was something in the way he put his hands in my hair that made me relax

A seductively smooth stroke assuring no pressure

My exhales streamed fragmentized as I felt his heart vibrate against my chest

“Is it ok if I hold you like this” I nodded yes as I felt all the want in his embrace

For the rest of the night wrapped up in no movement

That’s where we stayed

And I saw the thick dark wall that I built to keep a division planted

Liquefy into Red Lace

This is a really nice poem. Holds a lot of feeling and a slightly different structure, which is nice. There is only one niggle I have with it and I honestly don't know why. But the '“I can love you passed your pain”' I'm not quite sure about. It broke the poem, somehow. It's probably just me - but I did really like it otherwise. Thankie :)

Hmm...I'm disagreeing to someone's review here...Not to mention the person's name...Haha...Must maintain peace... XD
This is actually great and beautiful...I don't see any flaws in this poem and you just did it right! I even like the description, "one step at a time"...That is so true and quite inspiring in my opinion...Once again, I'm astounded by your work...You obviously did a great job here...And...Keep on writing, never let those negative critics pull you down...

I've gone weak at the knees with the beauty of this. And you have brought it alive with your words. Time to throw the hat away and buy a new one. One more suitable for dofing

Your pieces always impress me. I always get lost reading them, imagining the situation, every sound, movement, sight. Glad it is a true story, but completely scary when someone can break through.
