Man in ProfileA Poem by SLOVATo which cheek does a heart respond? To the left, where may light caress the skin, compelled by a notion of shame and pity to remedy a poor face? Or to the right, where may sour tongues spit from a callous eye, ill-tempered when static? Where a resting soul recovers, away from urgency, there is seen one of either cheek, suspended by perceptions unaccounted by the wearer. Turn to face the somber-eyed and there may stand the wicked at ease. Turn to face the violent-teethed and from there confront the wronged. Turn away and you become an object of the same attention. Before you are stripped, how do you wear your cheek?
