Afterward

Afterward

A Poem by SLOVA

It's me and you

In a darkened room

We'll stay up all night

With nothing to do

so they can't listen at locked doors

for this

It's you and me

Down the balcony

Sneaking out

So they can't see

What we do to hide

This

It's dark outside

But the lights are bright

from the streetlamps

to the side of the road

The corners are shady

You grip my hand tight

Say "Pretty baby

you're all right"

It's you and me

On your Harley

Taking I-69

To downtown Indy

But it's cool, it's breeze

'Cause we dropped this

You and me

Kissed in the dark

Found some peace

In that fenced-in park

Before the cops came by

And told us to leave

But there's no you

Without that shot

Don't mind my friends

I'll tell them I screwed up

 But there's nothing to regret

With this

You and me

We'll drive all night

You say "You look so pretty

In that dress tonight"

And I can't believe this is happening.

You take me home

So I have nothing to do

The party's still going

But I'm not with you

You'll find another girl

To share in this

Me and you

In a darkened room

We kissed for a while

Said "Let's get out soon"

I didn't know our drinks were like this

I understand and I liked the poem.
"Me and you

Said "Let's get out soon"
Sometime friends can lead us to dark and lonely places. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
