My friend committed suicide the other day. Stay in flight.

Did you dream of flight?
In your slumber, you're free.
Are you warm now that the stars watch over you as you sleep?

Come new days,
As children grow old,

I like this, it is very well written, and a very sweet tribute to someone you have lost. Suicide is always a hard topic to talk about, and very personal, but i think you have done very well and i like this poem a lot, gives hope to people who have lost friends to suicide that they may still be happy and okay with the stars watching over them. I like this piece very much, keep it up!

Suicide is a hard topic. I believe each person is built different. There are fighters and people who will not. I told people often. I don't fear suicide. I fear the disappointment I would leave behind. I like the tone of the poem. Gentle intend on a serious topic. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

There's a sort of coping mechanism that's inherited out of nowhere after someone's death. The gentle words were meant as a testament to how gentle of a person my friend was.
