Paranoia

Paranoia

A Poem by Nicholas Hagenschneider

why do i look for

what i don't want to see

why do i listen

for what i don't want to hear

why do i admire

the people i wish i could be

why do i flinch

at this constant inner fear

i hear you breathing

out there in the cold

the fear is seething

this is getting old

why is this happening

it's driving me insane

the crash of the lightning

is this all a game

why do i look for

what i don't want to see

why do i want more

of the person i used to be

i hear you breathing

out there in the cold

the fear is seething

this is getting old

this paranoia

is driving me insane

now the agoraphobia

is this all a game
