Emotionally Colorblind

Emotionally Colorblind

A Poem by Nicholas Hagenschneider

yes it's true

my heart was broken

and as my sorrow grew

the words couldn't be spoken

my dream was torn away

and i was left alone

the knife in my back will stay

forever grazing my heart of stone

i'll cut through the thoughts

tearing through these binds

no matter what the cost

emotionally colorblind

i push down my sorrow

to see it all in black and white

to go on tomorrow

feeling in this new sight

you can't hurt me now

you can't turn me blue

i may know how

it feels to be you

i'll cut through the thoughts

tearing through these binds

no matter what the cost

emotionally colorblind
