Chapter III The library

              It's been several days since Zennon has set out, he happened to hitch a ride on a merchant caravan since he got a free ride he decided to  rest a bit. He closed his eyes and drifted into a calm slumber.

        As he slept he saw the scared face of Haldur a long haired man rather young for his years. Even though Haldur looked like he was bandit leader something about him seemed calming and familiar. Haldur was in another village but not to pillage it seemed like it was his home oddly enough not only did Haldur look familiar the village did as well but before he could recognize anything else he heard a man’s voice call to him

                "get outta my wagon ya lazy brat" said the old man as he started beating Zennon with his cane. Zennon jumped out of the wagon and apologized to the old man and went on his was fortunately for him the city of duhar, a very big city, well off and well known for its schools and scholars a perfect place to find information. The city gates were massive as Zennon entered the city he saw locals going along with their lives the adults working and the kids playing, as he walked passed them most of the locals turned to take another look at Zennon he even heard one of the kid who was talking to his mother ask " mummy why does that man have silver hair is he old and gold and crimson eye is he also sick" the mother told the boy to be silent and that it was rude to say those things. Zennon didn't mind it, for we was used to it besides he couldn't help but to smile at the boy and all the other children playing. he envied them  he never remembered his childhood his first memory was waking up in town and spent some time as a thief to survive after which Alvar found him and took him in.

                Kura nudged Zennon lightly to get his attention and to remind him about what he needed to do. Zennon asked a local where the ancient library is, the local pointed down the road to the outskirts; he thanked the local and went on his way. It was just as he'd imagined it to be a magnificent library he quickly went in and looked for a book about the Elux Lucis, since it’s a rare type of dragon he thought it would be best to look in the more ancient texts.  Zennon went to the old forbidden part of the library Kura  had a bad feeling about the place, that they shouldn’t be here he tried to warn Zennon but he brushed it off and on continues further inside twisting and turning though the isles the deeper he went the darker and more eerie it became. He knew Kura was right that they shouldn't be here but if it meant finding more information about the Elux so be it. Not only did Zennon feel that they we're not allowed there he also felt a dark ominous presence he puts that sense aside takes out a book and opens to search for Elux, the books says that apparently it can be found in the arctic regions during dusk dawn or twilight hours, it is an elusive being usually not in physical form only when it is off guard will it turn into a tangible state none the less it is still deadly on both states. Like other elemental dragon types it can attack with its element light and energy. Zennon was only a little surprised when he saw that it only contained little information about the creature it must be extremely rare he thought to himself.

        As he put the book back that bad feeling became worse, it wasn't paranoia he knew something was there since he started his training with Alvar his senesce and reflexes have greatly improved. From the corner of his he saw movement of a small creature, that gave him a signal to leave he tried to make his way out the forbidden section he walked around for several minutes but it was to no avail he ended up back to where he started. He tried once more wandering the labyrinths of book shelves searching for a way out, he saw a small bright yellow light in the distance and walked towards it thinking it was what he was searching for but before he could get any closer Kura stopped him

" whaa-" said Zennon

"shhhh don't best shut thy lip" whispered Kura

"why what did you see Kura?" asked Zennon

"unglers a lot of them" said Kura

"what!? Those vile little monsters what are they doing he-" asked Zennon

" shh! I know not, but we better leave as quietly as possible before they notice us and turn into a frenzy." Kura said
     
        the two carefully walked away from the unglers trying not to make a sound take it step by step when............. CRACK! The sound sent shivers down Zennon's spine when he checked what he stepped on his hair stood on end, bones... scattered all around the floor of different shapes and sizes some of which looked human. The sound startled the group of unglers and they dispersed in all directions some went towards Zennon, when the two finally realized that the creatures were going to them, Kura separated with Zennon being alone he casted a Ventus speed enchantment magia and started to run. There were two unglers behind him catching up fast he tries to lose them by turning randomly into other isles he didn't know which way to go, all he knew was he had to get out and get away from those things. He almost lost them when he went into the next turn two more of them showed up and blocked his path he tried to find an opening but it was hopeless he was surrounded at all sides, one of the monsters attacked Zennon but he saw it coming and easily avoided the attack and slain it instantly with a Ventus magia hand blade spell. The rest of the unglers tried to attack but the outcome was the same the only thing that seemed odd to Zennon was that there was no ended to them they just kept coming. he couldn't fend them all off one managed to get close enough and bit Zennon’s leg, the pain from wound and the monsters rigged teeth caused Zennon to slow down. The unglers saw that as an opening to strike then they all pounced on Zennon.

                    he falls to his back pinned down by the  horde of  little fiends gnawing on him there were too many to push back, all the pain from them caused a spark in Zennon’s head a vision of some sort appeared to him, he was surrounded by  children and adults the children were beating him with whatever they could find. The adults where cheering the children on as if it was some sort of game, he caught a glimpse of Haldur he was speaking to an old man Zennon tried to watch and listed but the beating continued. The vision stopped he didn't know how much time has passed but he knew he can't stay like this, he then casted an Ignusia magia flame prison on himself.  A sphere of fire engulfed him and the unglers, slowly the fire filled the sphere burning the monsters but not Zennon for he was impervious to high temperatures and most Ignis magia thanks to Alvar's training. The unglers loosened their grip on Zennon because of the fire and when Zennon felt that he wasn't bounded he finished them. The prison lit up like the rising sun and exploded sending smoldering pieces of unglers flying.  The blast was far stronger then how Zennon thought it would be the entire area was ablaze he tried to put it out with an aqua magia spell but the blade was to strong his only option was to flee. He was about to make his way out when he remembered about Kura. Zennon look for the cat everywhere in the blaze he had almost given up hope but then he heard a cat like groan he went in that direction when he arrived he found Kura  lodged  and unconscious  under a lit book shelf he lifted a enough so that he could slid Kura out. When he managed to free Kura part of the ceiling gave in on top of Zennon. He threw Kura far enough that he won't get trapped, when Kura hit the floor he regained consciousness He saw Zennon and went closer.

"GET BACK YOU FOOL CAN'T YOU SEE THE PLACE IN COMING DOWN!!!" yelled Zennon

"oh shut up boy I know what I'm doing" said Kura

              When Kura got close enough he casted an trancus magia expand and trident claw Kura suddenly grew larger then a then a tiger and slashed the beams off of Zennon with his spear like claws. Once Zennon was freed Kura told him to get on for the entire place was about to Collapse, they searched for a way out but the fire was getting closer and they could feel their skin melt. Zennon pointed to the window and Kura made a run for it, the closer they got to the window more and more parts were crashing down. They only a few meters away when a large part of the ceiling came down in front of them crating a wall of fire, Kura backed away from the wall due to the intense heat their only way out was now blocked by hells gate. Without hesitating Zennon casted an aqua water barrier and Ventus speed enhancement spell, Kura knew it was safer to cross he ran at full speed and with the help of the spells Zennon casted. As they were getting closer to the wall of fire the water prison was already evaporating Kura ran even faster he went as close as he could then jumped into the fire before they made it out the barrier was gone Kura felt the extreme heat and fire he thought that they were done for.

                  A rush of cool air hit their faces as they flew through the air, they made it through to the outside and just in time shortly after a blast of fire existed through the window and the forbidden part of the library came crashing down. Zennon thought it would be best to leave before people showed up the only problem was that Kura was hurt badly but at least he went back to his original form, Zennon even thought he was exhausted, beaten up badly he put on a cloak carried Kura and went in search for an inn.
