silent sufferers

silent sufferers

A Poem by emmy bon

If the highway could complain
what would it say of the traffic?
If the cow could grumble
what would it say of the dagger?
If the hen could speak
what would it say of omeletteers?
If the spoon could revolt
what would it say of the steam?
If the anvil could talk
what would say of the furnance?
But why do they all keep mute?
Do they enjoy their silent suffering?
perhaps they do
Maybe they don't.
