Burned

Burned

A Poem by E.J. Michalec

Burned
Brushing your hands along the ancient brick
You inhale the scent of dust and age
Remembering the good times
Before we were grown
Before we knew
Before we fell apart
Like a building, we burned
We let the hate overcome us
And you left me with the remains
Bitter sorrow forevermore
