Abandoned Love

Abandoned Love

A Poem by E.J. Michalec

Our love was a fire
I tried so hard
To keep it alive
But you stomped
On the glorious flames
And they shrank
Into nothingness
You blew the ashes in my face
Each puff of black dust
Was one of our memories
That you didn't even  care
To keep within your mind
Crazy how something so amazing
Could just be left behind

This is good, too. I like your imagery of the ashes and black dust.
