Missing Smiles

Missing Smiles

A Poem by E.J. Michalec

I couldn’t find what it was

Why you had always worn a frown

Was your life unfair?

Did you not like your hair?

Did you lose your smile and not go back to find it?

Or did you just hide it?

Were you sitting beside it?

Maybe when you lost it you just didn’t mind it

When I saw you I wanted to see your happiest face

A smile so exciting it would speed up my pace

But in this particular case

You wore nothing but a frown

A total disgrace
