Red bubbles, they taunt me
Alert with information Escape the thoughts that haunt me Escape my situation In this world there is no rest I blame the glowing screen It leaves this weight upon my chest The world can be so mean Oh virtual world, are you an escape? Or a reminder of what can’t be? Shut off the phone You aren’t alone That’s the reality Being “connected” isn’t always a good thing In fact it causes harm Sure, you won’t know everything all the time But there’s no need to feel alarmed So unplug, my dear put down your device You’ll finally feel so free Productivity and genuine interaction are nice But until you unplug you won’t see © 2018 E.J.
