Science Fair

A Poem by E.J. Michalec

I was your experiment
Your hypothesis was vague
No control to cling to
We didn’t make the grade
Results were inconclusive
Your procedure wasn’t right
You’d pretend I wasn’t yours at school
But take me home at night
Put in work for an hour or two
Until you were tired or bored
And the second you threw me to someone else
I won the damn award

This has a great narrative and a keen sense of metaphor. I quite enjoyed it. Absolutely well done!
