Inside of my BodyA Poem by E.J. MichalecJungle
of muscles and bones My
spine, a tall tree that curves throughout Muscles
branching out Bodies
of blood Riding
a subway In
which my heart was the station And my
veins, the tunnels In
which the subway travelled Nutrition
channeled down my esophagus As my taste
buds danced And my
stomach acid wrestled What
was just consumed Thick
air, like a spoonful of honey Inflating
my lungs like a helium balloon My
brain, queen of the jungle Controlling
my every move From
the top of my head To
the feet inside my shoes © 2012 E.J. Michalec |
