Afternoon

Afternoon

A Poem by E.J. Michalec

I walked outside

And welcomed the sun

The sunlight

Danced and swayed

All around me

As if it was happy

 To see me

I started dancing with it

As the cool air nipped

At my rosy cheeks

And I heard it whisper

In my ear

That fall was coming soon

And I couldn’t help but smile

On that lovely afternoon
