The Demon and The Angel

The Demon and The Angel

A Poem by SpiderPumpkin
"

I'm not sure what genre is this, really. I wanted to put it into a 'story poem' but there wasn't any.

"

Please No CSS Footsteps of death down the dusty stairwell

Half-burnt out torch in my hands, forsaking

The Light. I live in my own Darkness. Strange…

I feel another presence in this tower. Who dares wonder in?

Creature of the Light! Back away from me!

You have no right to enter my only Sanctuary.

Leave me at peace, stop following me down

my spiral staircase, deeper into the core of my tower.

The Tower is crumbling, the walls are falling!

Please leave O Distressed One, this place is no longer safe

Leave with me and hold on to me, my Blessed Wings will take you far

To somewhere safe. Here, I’ve caught your hand.

Let go you Burning Angel, your touch scathes my skin!

Feel my claws dig into your flesh! Fear me, I am vile!

Leave me to die! Let the towers bury me, so that I can feel alive!

Heed me! Haven’t the overflowing blood from the wounds deterred you?

Only a scratch on the skin, the pain can hardly match the Sorrow in my heart.

Remember who you were, Fallen One, flee no more from your true radiance.

Shall these walls crumble upon us, remember me, remember who you were….

My lover.
