Burden

Burden

A Poem by SpiderPumpkin

Memories of stained glass

Heavy on my shoulders
The weight holds me down
In my slow slumber hours.

A relic of your past in my drawer
From a loved one that has passed away
It would have been her instead of me
If she were still alive….

Another poem from the girl of your past
Returning again to say her many goodbyes
Or her little quirks on how she is struggling to move on
Enough to fill the space of a year’s poetry

That is fine, till I see your page
Of her still on your watch list
Despite your claims of letting her go.

I tried to ease the burden on my shoulders
By pushing mine towards you
But my one crush cannot match
Your intimate relationship with three girls
