Erased

Erased

A Poem by SpiderPumpkin

Everything was erased.

The data, the pictures, the emails,

Everything that had you in it

was gone.

Believe me when I said I tried to move on,

To live without any thoughts of you ever

To live without any trace of your memory

And yet somewhat yearning to feel that strong closeness

There’s nothing left to see.

It’s all erased, not even a trace of your address on my list

Yet I still remember the exact address

Rusty, that’s what you called yourself

I remember your face on the screen, the photos,

Your cheesy laugh and your extreme shyness

Painfully saying out word by word…

I love you.

I remember you, I remember the late nights

I used to stay up just to chat with you

Throughout the entire night, so that you’ll feel better.

Just so you won’t be lonely.

You never had any friends, never really did.

Your only friend betrayed you, stabbed you on your back

Your first real non-virtual girlfriend taking over your computer

Invading our chats.

I understood. I believed it was right for me to back out,

To erase everything.

Mistake.
