The truth is I’m burning

As if a furnace is inside my body

My eyes are teary

But I’m not crying

 

It’s like I’m toasted

As if I’m roasted

Yes I have a fever

Praying this will end sooner

 

 But I’m not worried

And I’m not afraid

Because you keep on messaging

Now I’m smiling

I love the contrast before the first two stanzas and the rest of the poem, it really helps the emotions jump off of the screen. I really like the "My eyes are teary, But I'm not crying" it gives a strong mental picture. Great job!

Nice poem! I loved the comparison of a furnace to your body temperature. I could imagine a huge iron melting furnace xD. The imagery is brilliant, the fever could be felt.
